Honeywell Receives Prestigious Air Force Security Certification for Vindicator Solution

PL-1 Certification Deems Latest Vindicator Systems Approved to Protect Air Force and other Critical Government Assets

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Dec. 4, 2007 – Honeywell (NYSE:HON) today announced that its Vindicator Security Solutions has received PL-1 certification, the highest security certification from the United States Air Force. The certification recognizes the Vindicator® Command & Control (VCC) platform, V5 Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and V5 Access Control System (ACS) as an approved command, control and display solution for intrusion detection and entry control systems.

The PL-1 certification required Vindicator to undergo rigorous testing for its VCC, V5 IDS and V5 ACS at the Certified Air Force Test Site C-3, located at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. The designation certifies that the latest Vindicator products and solutions protect PL 1-4 resources without requiring base or command authorities to apply for a waiver against regulations.

“National security is a higher priority today than ever before,” said David Peirce, regional general manager for Honeywell Vindicator Security Solutions. “Facilities critical to the nation’s security must take every safeguard possible to ensure that their people and assets are protected. A fully integrated system like ours gives security personnel a complete picture of site operations from single or multiple locations anytime. Our fully redundant systems have been certified for protection of PL-1 assets for many years. And now with the addition of our latest platforms to the approved list, we’re giving the Air Force and other high-security customers the support they need and expect. They’re able to move forward and take advantage of a powerful security solution – Vindicator.”

The Vindicator network allows operators to receive security event information from perimeter intrusion, video detection, access control and fire systems at a single console. This information can be transmitted either on an existing or separate facility network over any media: wire, RF, modem, fiber, etc., both encrypted and redundantly. This critical level of security is often required by government and military installations as well as industrial chemical facilities and many correctional institutions.
