TALOS is an effective detector of certain types of attached
Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) or monitoring devices planted on the vehicle
underbody. To a standard sedan car, eight sensors are fitted within the vehicle
and provide protection for the entire underbody area. Talos is a dual
“protection/detection” system. The Talos system not only detects IEDs, but also
provides a visual alert if anyone has been tampering with the hood, trunk or
doors. Talos uses “state of the art” CMOS technology to provide the most
advanced detection system of its type available in the world today.
Talos provides an input which, when connected to the vehicles’
chassis, will give an alarm warning indication. The input is normally 12 volt DC
high impedance. It can be attached to vehicle circuits such as interior light
systems. Additional switches may be added to other locations if not fitted as
standard.
