Integrated Security
System Vindicator® provides one of the world’s fastest, most
flexible and secure data communications networks. The Vindicator Communications
Network is composed of a series of intelligent devices that provide encrypted
and redundant data transfer from the sensor to the command and control center.
The Vindicator Network is used as the backbone for security systems at high-risk
facilities, and is a cost-effective solution for a variety of sites and
applications. The Vindicator Communications Network is installed at more than
1,500 sites worldwide, including military bases, refineries, correctional
facilities, ports, utilities, and financial institutions.
The Vindicator Communications Network integrates any number of Vindicator
devices with the V5 Network Security Appliance to create an encrypted, private
network on any enterprise infrastructure. The network consists of two basic
types of devices for encrypting and transporting data for security, fire and
life safety, and building automation:
- Data devices accept digital and analog signals from many field sensors
such as access control readers, perimeter detection devices, alarm information
from fire systems, etc. The data is then encrypted and routed to the end user
via LAN/WAN, RS485, fiber, RF, or other existing media.
- Gateways bridge two different forms of media - i.e., they often transport
data from RS485 lines to a fiber optic network. Gateways are also used as
intelligent routing devices to segment networks and route data through various
paths for enhanced system performance.
FEATURES
Flexible - Vindicator network devices can be easily
installed at any site to extend the network where it is needed. Data can then be
securely routed from the field to monitoring facilities via many different types
of existing media. The network also integrates with many types and brands of
pre-existing access control devices, sensors and detection systems.
Secure - This network has never been victim to hacking, and
is not susceptible to viruses or worms or other malicious attacks. The fully
redundant network is TDEA approved (Triple Data Encryption Algorithm, also known
as Triple DES) by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The system
is also certified, without waiver, to protect nuclear facilities.
Reliable - Vindicator network components deliver an 11-year
mean-time- between-failure rate.
Programmable - Analog inputs are completely programmable.
State values of Alarm, Secure, Trouble, Tamper, Sensor Test and Local Access are
assignable to programmable voltage windows that can overlap and be assigned
precedence based on your application, making the range of input devices
supported virtually unlimited. A digital filter ensures that when a state-change
does occur, there are no false readings.
